Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Cold In An Infant

Hello Doctor Good morning, My baby is one month old she had a cough and cold i go to doctor they are giving Nupod 50 Ds, Zefcort and Deletus Bx this syrups for baby.. i m giving to my baby this syrups but last 5 days is gone but my baby cough is not gone please help me... my baby getting too tired for that cough and cold causes.

Hello,
Since your baby is just a month old I'm not prescribing anything to you here however I will explain you what to do.

Deletus is a cough suppressant that your physician had provided for the cough. If your baby's infection is gone and still she/he has cough then it's possible that she might have developed allergy that is constantly irritating her respiratory tract.

I would advise you to follow up with a pediatrician for a reevaluation where they can prescribe you a syrup which has both anti tussive and anti allergic properties. It is also good to exclude croup if your baby's cough is barking in nature.

You don't have to panic as the condition can be well controlled with adequate medical care.
