Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Nasal Congestion While On Amoxicillin

My husband was diagnosed with a sinus infection on Sept 12 and given Amoxicillin 500 to take. He was coughing horribly and not able to sleep at night. So on Friday, Sept 16 we went back to doctor and it was decided he had pneumonia and was given levofloxacin 750 mg for 10 days. He has not gotten any better. on the 5th day of taking levofloxacin the muscle in his calf felt like it had torn. As we read the warnings for this drug, it said that it could cause weakness and tearing in the tendons. We called the dr and were told to not take this drug anymore and was given Doxycycline 100 mb to take for another 10 days. He is not getting any better. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Your history suggests that the infection is not cleared yet due to misdiagnosis of your problem. You need to get investigated and necessary tests of sputum, radiography again. I hope you will report to the ER without wasting time on taking antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
