Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough, Breathing Difficulty And Coughing Fits

I have had a horrible cough for the past 2 weeks, and I sometimes go into coughing fits so harsh that the phlegm tastes metallic (There isn t any blood though). I have recently been hearing a strange noise coming from my neck/through whenever I breathe in deeply. All of the cold medicines I have tried have not worked and neither does aresol based medicine. It s getting to the point where I m having difficulty breathing because of the pain in my sides. Do you have some ideas of what I could have?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you have dry cough, take tablet Montelucast sodium, 1 tab in evening with tablet cetirizine in night. Also, take steam inhalation and cough syrup.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Tariq
