Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My ten month old son has the flu really bad atm. Same as myself. His cough is so horrific it is keeping him awake at night. When he was 3 months old he had severe bronchitis and was put on ventalin and prednisone. Despite my efforts at night with a eucalyptus chest rub panadol and a vapouriser hes still barking like a dog. Can i give him prednisone and his ventalin to ease his cough?
Your child can have lower respiratory tract infection lead to bronchitis. It seems to to be viral infection condition. Turmeric powder with milk can be given.
Your child can be prescribed decongestant and anti tusssive syrup. There is no need to use prednisone.
If no improvement than his chest X-ray should be done and consult him to the pediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
