Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough When Diagnosed With Upper Respiratory Infection
i was put on a inhaler and antibiotic ..I have finished the antibiotic and still coughing so hard i gag and my muscles bulge out in my stomach ..I dont seem to be getting better. I was diagnosed w upper respiratory infection along w a sinus infection ... Should i be concerned of pnemonia ?
* As per my clinical experience, there can be various possibilities like: - Severe bronchitis from respiratory infection - consolidation of lung - Community acquired or bacterial pneumonia over viral influenza state My guidelines at present: - Discuss the need of inhaled low to moderate dose of fluticasone with your doctor - Steam inhalation with blanket over head - Deep breathing exercises - Incentive spirometry - Chest physiotherapy - Decongestant, cough relieving formulations as Guianphenecin - Anti viral medications if needed - Sputum culture report for susceptibility test of antibiotics Remain in regular follow up with your doc for best results.
