Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough With Green Phlegm And Breathing Difficulty
I have had upper respiratory symptoms for the past week and increasing weakness for the past two days. and approximately three days ago I developed a cough that has gradually become worse and now I have difficulty catching my breath. The other night I was confused and almost fell while going to the bathroom. lastly I have been coughing up a significant amount of phlegm that is thick and green in color. i dont have a fever, but I cant seem to get rid of this cold. br
As the intensity of cough is much and now green phlegm indicates lower respiratory tract infection, which can show up with absence of fever.
My guidelines at present
- deep breathing exercises
- tincture benzoin inhalation with boiled water vapors
- avoid smoking
- face mask use when outdoor
- prescription of necessary antibiotics as macrolides or else, cough formulas with expectorant properties from your doc
- nutritional diet to build up the immunity response
- regular follow up with your doc
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
