Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, i had suffered from severe cough and went to doctor over 2 months ago, doctor prescribed some medications those are dry powder capsules meant to inhalation. those are levosalbutamol rotacaps 100mcg (prescribed to take when coughing) IVEPRED -8mg (oral medication prescribed for 5 days course.) combihale FF 500 (formoterol fumarate and fluticasone propionate) - which is for one month course about daily 2 capsules through inhalation even though cough persists or not. the cough completely wiped off after 5 days of treatment. but unfortunately i neglected continuing course of medication after 10 days. and i did not consulted a doctor for two months since there is no cough. after now iam again attacked with same symptoms such that cough during night times and iam again started the same prescribed course but my cough still persists even after iam taking those medicines combihale FF 500 and levosalbutamol. but not the oral capsuls IVEPRED -8mg. kindly tell me what for these medications prescribed for. and what is the action of these medications on our body. and how to cure this completely.
dear friend it is very disheartening to the doctor if the patients do not follow advice and more so if they take decision and restart the medication if similar symptoms reoccurs. we do spend a considerable amount of our life and go through great pains to learn the art of healing and helping. after the advice above now i would suggest please visit the doctor let him hear your chest see if there is congestion and decide the best course of action. you may be having an asthmatic issue which if not kept under constant control and surveillance can result in serious illness and fairy debilitating chronic illness. so please take some time and visit your physician
