Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Mother who is now 85 years old recently had a pacemaker inserted. She has been experiencing excessive coughing. The pacemaker was removed as the dr felt the position of the lead/s were contributing to this problem. The coughing problem continues to be present. My Mother states it s worse when she is sitting or laying down. Any feedback would be appreciated.
You should send her to a physician to listen to her lungs with a stethoscope to see what is the problem with her. She may be having bronchitis, allergic cough or even a medication related cough. If she is taking ACE I medications they may cause such a cough.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
