Hi,

Smoking is hazardous for health. The smoke inhaled for years together cause inflammation of air way, making it easily attacked by infection. His present situation indicates the same and is an aftermath of smoking.

So it's good that he has stopped smoking. Swelling on feet could be due to high blood pressure or heart problem secondary to bronchitis, all of these being interrelated.

He needs a detailed examination with needful investigations & a specific drug regime to combat his a ute state of infection & maintaining bronchial relaxation thereafter. Please consult a chest specialist physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
