Hello, 6 weeks ago I picked up a settee and hurt my back the back lasted about 4 weeks, and then I started to have cramp pains in my hop and down my left leg, these are terrible after I sleep. And it s been nearly three week. And it s just as bad. It s has taken my 4 hours to just stand. What can I do
There can be various issues possible as: - Acute muscle spasm - Nerve compression in between inter-vertebral disc space - Inflammation of ligamentum flavum - Stress or pathological fracture of vertebra(more likely in aged person)
Primary relief with: - Analgesic spray containing methylsalicylate and linseed oil - Anti-inflammatory medicines as ibuprofen or diclofenac - Postural adaptations to avoid sudden bending or weight lifting
Definite care requires: - A consulting with your primary care - Discuss the need of an X-ray of spine with or without an MRI
