Hi,
You need to contact a psychiatrist as soon as possible. As you have suicidal thoughts and high risk of suicidal behaviour, you will be offered electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) initially along with initiation of antidepressant medications.
You may be prescribed antidepressant medications like sertraline or amitriptyline. But the medications will take time around 3 weeks for benefits to appear. In the meantime, ECT will help tide over the crisis.
Do appear for the sessions of ECT as indicated by your psychiatrist. Along with ECT and medications, cognitive behavioural and counselling will help you get over the crisis.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Do not lose hope, you will definitely be fine after the above treatment. Do enjoy the beautiful world and take care.
