Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
Severe diarrhea with vomiting may be infective,(
gastroenteritis) or food poisoning or drug induced but it should be treated promptly before patient go in
hypovolemic shock ( like
tachycardia,
hypotension,rapid breathing, giddiness, fever etc).
So,you should immdieatly undergo routine blood investigations and serum electrolytes, liver and kidney function tests,
urinalysis and stool for routine microscopy and abdominal ultrasound to detect the underlying cause.
As you are taking immodium (loperamide) which only reduces excess water content in intestine but does not treat the underlying cause,so better not to take it and follow your physician's treatment.
So you will require injectable antibiotics with fluid and electrolyte replacement therapy like intravenous fluids and antibiotics injections immediately.
Consult your family physician or visit to ER immediately for complete treatment.
Thanks and regards,
