Suggest Treatment For Severe Dryness Of Lips

My age is 40, weight is 64 and my height is 147 cm. I feel dryness in my inside of bottom lip and some times my tongue also sticks. My lower lip sticks with my teeth. From last one week I am facing this problem. I am a lecturer, due to this problem I couldn't speak fluently. I didn't take any medication. What could be the problem for me? and what is the remedy for this?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of severe dryness inside mouth along with tongue or lips sticking to teeth is happening due to dryness in mouth that is also known a XEROSTOMIA..

It can occur due to a number of causes, however common causes can be severe dehydration, salivary gland dysfunction, nerve damage supplying salivary glands, oral infections like thrush, sjogren's syndrome..etc..

You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause has to be done, as the treatment of underlying cause will help in resolving the dry mouth..

As of now for dry mouth chew sugarfree chewing gums,suck tart candies, drink plenty of water, avoid regular mouthwash and use specialized mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene, you can also instil artificial saliva drops..
