Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear And Throat Pain

I have an EGD and a colonoscopy scheduled for Monday. I presently have a slight ear ache in one ear because of a chronic sinus issue. Currently on antibiotic. May I still go through with the procedure? No fever, no aches, just sore throat, sinus drip with mucous and some ear discomfort.

Hi,

Yes, there is no problem to proceed with the procedure. You can use some painkiller like Paracetamol for an earache if needed but it's not going to affect the procedure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
