Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Congestion

My ear is plugged up and has been for quite a few days. I went to Instacare and they gave me a nasal steroid spray and told me to try the neti pot, which I have done three times. My sinus congestion is getting better but my ear is not. what would be my next step to unplug my ear?

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. The ear is also connected to the nise and throat, so any upper respiratory tract infection can cause plugged ear. As for now wait for a couple of days till the sinuses are completely cleared and the ear will be good on it's own. Apart from that, impacted wax can also cause plugged ear for which you can use OTC eardrops like earclear which can be used following the instructions over the drops. Keeping the ear drops over night for 2 to 3 days will soften the wax which can be removed with ease using ear bud. Even after the wax removal if the ear still feels plugged, kindly see a doctor to get examined for ear infections.
