Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Severe Fatigue While Having Pneumonia
I was diagnosed with pneumonia 3 weeks ago. I finished 7 days of Levaquin. For about the past 5 days I have been experiencing severe fatigue and my legs have weakened at the knees and I am having bad pain in the muscles around my knees. I fell today. Stood up and my legs just went out from under me. Could this be related to the pneumonia.
Levaquin is in the group of quinolones, which are known for their side effects on the muscles causing rhabdomyolysis. Because you have these pains and weakness in the limbs and also feel very fatigued, it is advisable that you let your doctor know and probably have some tests such as CPK and kidney function tests.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
