Suggest Treatment For Severe Fever In A Child With Asperger Syndrome
Hi My 8yr old daughter who has EDS and Asbergers got sick while we were camping she ran a very high fever and was dizzy, even with motrin I could not get the fever down. she had been out in the sun three times aday at the pool for atleast two hrs at a time, she never got a sun burn. what did she have
Very likely, if the fever lasted less than 4-5 days, it was due to a self-limiting condition such as a viral infection.
During such episodes, it is important to keep her well hydrated and give Motrin regularly every 6 hours to help keep the fever under control.
If the child is less active than usual or is sleepy, is not eating or drinking well or the fever lasts for more than 4-5 days a visit with the doctor is needed.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
