Unless there are specific conditions or reasons why you should be taking them, betnesol is never safe to use while pregnant. It is important to understand what this medication is and why it is administered during pregnancy.
First you do not mention since when your wife has BP above 140/90, as you mentioned that is 160/90. Because if your wife is detected to have BP recently after this pregnancy, that means your wife is suffering from
preeclampsia.
Unfortunately you did not mention whether your wife has other symptoms such as
dizziness or headaches,
blurred vision, swollen feet, heartburn, and
protein in urine or what we call
proteinuria. Because your doctor may have suspected the disease so your doctor gives betnesol injection therapy to your wife when there are chances of your wife going into a
premature labor.
