Suggest Treatment For Severe Flank Pain

we were in a severe rear end collision. We actually feel pretty good. Checked by M.D. yesterday. Last nite my husband developed pain (7 on a scale of 0-10) left flank. Then hematuria (pink to rose' in color. Continued this morning. Lots of fluids--urine is clear now. Pain is gone. Anything to worry about?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
It is a case of kidney injury. I would recommend you to get ultrasound examination and show it to a urologist. You should continue to drink plenty of water. Avoid pain killers as they are dangerous for kidney.
If there is only mild injury and USG is normal than nothing needs to done. Your husband will be fine in a week. If there is hematuria again or there is collection of blood in the abdomen than he might require bed rest. He should avoid driving and any jerkey activities.
I hope this answer will be helpful to you. Let me know if there is nay other follow up questions.
Thanks
