Experiencing severe foot numbness and/or pain... to the point where driving is frightening due to inability to sense pressure on brake pedal. The neuropathy has been progressive for about eight years. I had a severe case of vasculitis following a hip replacement. It was misdiagnosed as cellulitis by Personal Physician (PF) and treated incorrectly with antibiotics until the disease had progressed to the point of fairly massive tissue necrosis on both legs (smelled like roadkill) and was excruciatingly painful. Finally a different MD correctly diagnosed and treated with steroids which arrested the necrosis, but I still had to go through a lengthy recuperation and regeneration of tissue. Upon regaining my feet I Almost immediately was debilitated again by very severe foot pain. I am left with discoloration around lower legs. Saw a foot surgeon who said the year off my feet had caused the bones to knit into some kind of arthritic inflammation configuration, but offered no solution. Recently saw a vascular surgeon who did an ablation, which seems to have been beneficial with edema, but not with the numbness. I am overweight, an ex smoker, and a drinker
