Suggest Treatment For Severe Foot Pain

I am having a lot of pain in my foot it isn t muscular but a nerve keeps jumping and is really painful it has been doing it for about six hours now. I have taken an Aleve but it has done absolutely nothing. I have diabetes and am 68 years old I also have loss of feeling in my feet but I can sure feel this, it is unbearable. Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
ALEVE( naproxen sodium) is analgesic. You seem to have acute symmetric.     distal, primary sensory diabetic polyneuropathy (Small fibers affected -often painful ). You have to take gabapentin 300 mg orally daily. Check your blood sugar fasting and post-prandial & HbA1c.Consult diabetologist if fasting>100 mg/dl and/or post-prandial >140 mg/dl or HbA1c >6.5.Do check serum Vitamin B12 level.
