Suggest Treatment For Severe Groin Pain In An Elderly Person
My father, a 83 year old man, had severe pain in his groin on Wednesday and we went to the ER. After ruling out blood clot, breakage, and hernia-they thought it was a strained muscle and recommended icing and acetinaminophen. Now the pain has moved to his knee and below. At times, the muscle in his thigh gets very tight. Could the moving of pain be a symptom of gout?
I agree with your doctor that the symptoms seem to be related to a strained muscle. Gout does not give pain in the groin area so I don't think that it can be the cause of the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
