Suggest Treatment For Severe Groin Pain

I had new onset of groin pain this morning after getting to work that increases with internal rotation. No increased pain with weight bearing and walking is not painful. I also run on a regular basis. Could this be a fracture? I was going to try to run today after work. What else could be causing the pain and what should I do to treat?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a pulled muscle or ligament tear.
As first-line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
In severe cases an MRI may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
