Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Fall

I am 37 yrs old lady. I am facing hair fall since last year. Now I have shown to the Dermatologist and I am taking hairbless, folic acid, h-vit, morr 3% and momate at night from 20 days. I hv thyroid and taking 50 mcg tab daily. my TSH is 3.5. After taking medicine for 20 days, i had an appointment with doctor and he has replaced h-vit with antoxid and stopped momate lotion i have not noticed any improvement instead i am facing more hair fall. I am also washing my hair with sebowash, but facing more dandruff and hairfalls increases on washing. kindly suggest whether this medication is enough? when hair fall will stop and i will be able to see hair growth.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the hair fall is secondary to hormone imbalance with possible zinc and vitamin-E deficiency. Though thyroid disturbances can pose major issue of hair fall, your TSH is fairly under control and hence does not sound to be responsible for hair fall. Apart from the current measures, I would suggest following to control hair fall in a better sound manner:
- Control of dandruff and any sort of other fungal infection of scalp skin
- Essential vitamins with high dose vitamin E, selenium and zinc which are very vital for hair growth
- Protein rich shampoo for hair wash
- Avoid any chemical or dye application
- Control of stress (very important factor, without which no results of any therapy)
- Avoid smoking, alcohol if consuming
- Control of body weight, cholesterol, blood sugar and thyroid levels. Be in regular follow up with your dermatologist for best results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
