General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Krimson which is estrogen taken in PCOD which will decrease the excess expression of androgens. In PCOD these excess androgens can cause alopecia (female pattern hair loss). So after stopping estrogen your androgen expression is increased again. Using minoxidil solution 2% on scalp regularly will be helpful for this which is an FDA approved treatment. Natural anti androgens like soy palmetto in low dose also is helpful. But should be avoided in pregnancy. You can also use ketoconazole shampoos twice weekly which is also helpful in this. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
