Drugs used to treat severe hair loss include.....
Minoxidil - This is an over-the-counter (non prescription) medication approved for men and women.
It comes as a liquid or foam which can be rubbed into the scalp daily.
Finasteride (Propecia)- This is a prescription drug approved for men only.
For men, the oral medication dutasteride is another option.
