Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Nausea After Tooth Extraction

Two teeth pulled yesterday, woke up this morning with very little pain in the extraction sites but have severe headache and nausea that has lasted all day today. Could this be related to the dental procedure? If so, what can I do to improve my situation?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you had two teeth extraction done together and after that you having severe headache and nausea is mainly because your dentist prescribed you opiates such as Vicodin after dental treatment for pain removal which is causing adverse effect of headache. I would suggest you not to panic about anything it is very normal as extraction is a surgical procedure, 24-48 hrs such symptoms are normal. Pain, headache, nausea after 7 days of extraction is the major cause for concern. Then you should visit your dentist immediately.

Take ibuprofen 600 mg or Tylenol for pain removal. Your symptoms will resolve. Do warm saline gargles. Take cold water, ice creams for immediate relief. Eat very soft food. Maintain socket site clean by antimicrobial mouthwash.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
