Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Sore Throat
Hello, I just received a new keyboard wrist pad at work and it smells like chemicals. Besides smelling bad, it gives me a headache and sore throat. I keep thinking that the smell will subside over time, but is there any health risk associated with this chemical-like smell?

As per your query you have severe headache and sore throat and you are wondering if it is occurring due to new keyboard wrist pad . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like strep throat , upper respiratory track infection , viral pharyngitis and acid reflux . Sometimes there can be allergic reaction from certain things like color of stuff of keyboard wrist pad in your case . I would suggest you to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for headache and take benadryl twice a day . If symptoms doesn't get better in a days then consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine with laryngoscope , order thraot swab test and viral culture test . Doctor may refer you to allergy specialist or gastroenterologist .
