Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches And Breathing Difficulty

My 18 yr old granddaughter has been having severe headaches, trouble breathing (only when she sits down or lays down) She was at the Urgent care one week ago and they gave her Augmentin. After looking at the reactions I stopped it yesterday as it seems it may have been causing the issues, but she is still having the same problems. I have given her breathing treatments but does not help. She said it also hurts when she swollows and has a lump under her ear. Is this from the Augmentin or should I go to Urgent care once again?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The cause of breathlessness should be identified. Bronchial asthma, Pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections should be ruled out. In case, symptoms are present right from childhood, congenital lung diseases should be ruled out. Any cardiac condition can also cause breathing problems due to fluid overload. Hence, an Echo should be taken to assess cardiac function.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
