Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches And Excessive Bleeding

My brother in law just called me to ask what could cause him to wake up at night, with massive bleeding from the back right upper area of his mouth, to the point, he feels like he is drowning in blood, and has ruined 4 pillows and 3 sets of sheets. Also he said a couple nights, he has had a horrible headache. It is not coming from a tooth, and he can see the location and he said it is pumping blood, not just a drop now and then, and this has happened for the past 4 days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Possibly the bleeding comes from the nose and since he was laying down the mouth was with blood. Probably the blood pressure may have been elevated.

Taking antihypertensive drugs is advisable in this case. Also, sinusitis may have damaged the mucosa and nasal blood vessels. Seek medical attention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
