Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 21 years old. My eye doctor recently referred me to my regular doctor because she saw something when taking pictures that I believe was an ill-defined nerve or something like that? The regular doctor referred us to a neurologist and ordered a CAT scan. He said it could be anything from intracranial pressure to migraines. (I have headaches daily, typically from the minute I wake up.) I was wondering if you could explain a little further what this could mean? Thank you for your time.
As per your complain you have problem of severe headache that may be because of migraine or neuralgia pain or brain related. In migraine unilateral pain with vision affected and nausea or vomiting problems present. Pain intensity is very severe. Cranial nerve neuritis or neuralgia may lead to headache. Sinusitis lead to pain at front head area.
Sometime eye or ear or paranasal sinus infection may lead to referred pain at head area. Tension situation cause tight band like headache problem. Detail history and physical examination give exact idea about problems. CT scan and MRI can done for further diagnosis. CSF examination at last to rule out any infection present or not. Consult a neurologist for further diagnosis.
I hope my guidance helpful to you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards, Dr. Rachana Goswami
