Suggest Treatment For Severe Hip Pain In A Diabetic
I have pain in my left hip area. The pain goes from my hip down the FRONT of my thigh across to my inner knee area. The pain gets so intense after the day that laying on my back is my only option and sometimes if I ve been sitting I m afraid to take that first step because I m worried it won t hold. I had a bone scan yrs ago when I was 35 and it came back showing that my bones where that of an 80yr old and my hip area was severely darkened out. 3 yrs ago I had and x-ray on my lower back and it showed some seperation from my hip bone and pelvis. I m a diabetic and have Lupus.
By your description of illness, it seems the disease is in the bones around hip joint and the likely cause is osteoarthritis. I will advise you to undergo an MRI scan of hip and a Dexa scan of whole body to look for the osteoarthritis. Treatment is simple after that. Nothing to worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
