Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
a couple of weeks ago I went in to be checked for pain in my kidneys. i was screened for infection or bladder infection specifically and while i was negative for infection, there was blood in my urine. the following week i started my cycle, which lasts typically 5-6 days. I have been spotting now everyday since it started (November 1st). there is no pain or odor, however, this has only happened to me once before and it was quite some time ago. i am 48 years old and in good health, is there anything that i should be concerned about? could this be the start of menopause?
Hi, From history as there is severe renal pain with blood in urine and negative report for urinary tract infection leads to have kidney stones. You might require routine urine check up and ultra sound of kidneys for stones. Having off an often spotting of blood might be due to some hormonal changes occurring during pre-menopause. Consult your doctor and get examined. After all reports, plan of treatment can be decided. Ok and take care.
