Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain And Difficulty In Walking
hello..I am suffering from severe knee pain and difficulty in walking.im 29 yrs old. I visited doctor and after an X-ray he said the cartilage is damaged. He took all blood tests but all results are normal without any rheumatic disorders. He has prescribed Bonsalic for a month. Is this a permanent damage ? I must recover completely.kindly suggest me the methods of recovery please
You have history of cartilage damage in the knee joint and presently have severe knee pain and difficulty in walking. You are suggested to take NSAIDS, one SOS when needed. Get clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon. Get the required investigations (blood and imaging tests) done.
Your treating doctor may recommend procedures like Chondroplasty or Microfracture. Sometimes, the doctor may even want to replace the damaged cartilage before it is worn out. The damage can be reversed but it may take time to heal. In 6-8 weeks some physical activity can be resumed but total recovery may take 4-5 months or even more.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
