Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain Post A Surgery
I had knee surgery two years ago for a torn meniscus. I am 58 years old. I still have pain once in awhile below the surgical area to the right before the shin. Also there I have blue bulging veins that start there and go all the way down the front of the leg. They are warm to the touch and sometimes I have pain there or right above it so I m not sure if it is the veins or from the surgery. I think it is the vein. I also believe it happened when I was in my 40 s when my daughter hit me with a tennis serve right into the same area. I had a gigantic swollen ball appear but did nothing about it and the veins appeared after that. I m wondering if you think it could be serious?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hi,
I think due to injury your veins were damaged and swollen. You should visit a vascular surgeon for therapy. Also, Doppler study is needed. Do not massage or apply heat on distended veins.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
