Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

I am 56 yrs old female and overweight 228lbs 5 6 tall my legs are aching down to my feet my knees really hurt when I get up from sitting down. I have not been to the doctor about it. I am fairly active which includes horseback riding. I do experience soreness after riding. but lately it seems that the leg and knee pain is constant. as far as joint pain or any other pains I just have pain in my thumb joint-I think maybe arthritis is kicking in. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I need to see an X-ray picture of the knee. Baker cyst most of the time are painless. The best investigation to assess the health of meniscus and other knee ligament is MRI. You may get it done after discussion with your local doctor. As far PT is concern you may discontinue for the time being till we reach some diagnosis. Do you ever have locking of knee as this is suggestive of meniscus injury?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
