Hello,
Too little potassium, calcium or
magnesium in the diet can cause cramping of the legs. However, sometimes high potassium levels also cause muscles to cramp. You are suggested to get electrolyte panel tests done, so that you get an estimate of sodium - potassium level in your blood. Take balanced home made nutritious food with well cooked whole cereals, proteins, veggies, fruits and berries in the right portion.
Take anti inflammatory food, include turmeric in your daily diet. If
obese loose weight and do regular exercises, walking and stay well hydrated. Do not overuse your muscles. Take gentle
massage regularly at least two times a day.
Heat therapy or cold compress may help. Get clinically examined to rule out blood circulation issue or
venous insufficiency. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
