Suggest Treatment For Severe Leg Cramps While Having Degenerative Joint Disease

Dear doctor, my mother is 77 years old. She has sever degenerative joint disease (arthrities) and her leg and feet alway cramp. I saw from the net that soak feet in empson salt can cure arthrities and cramp. Can you tell me how many volume should I put it in the warter one time? thanks a lot

Hi,

Noted the history about your Mother having degenerative arthritis which may not be related to the leg cramps.
Epsom salt solution does not help in such conditions.
She needs the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor to examine the calf muscle area and other system to see for the cause of leg cramps.
Ultrasonography with color doppler of the legs to rule out Deep Vein Thrombosis that is DVT.
Varicose veins.
Bone density.
Tests of blood for calcium, Vitamin D and get a replacement therapy for any deficiency.
Give her an anti-inflammatory medications with painkiller properties.
Rest of the medications as would be advised.
