Hello- my spouse is complaining of severe leg pain in his left calf. It seems to move up and down his leg at times and this has been going on for a week. He is having trouble walking but it hurts worse when he sits or lays down and can only sleep for a short period. He is 71, and has only begin medication for HBP and a raised A1C about 2 months ago. He also uses a anti-anxiety medication for the same period of time. He s been talking Advil for the past week but it s not helping. Overall he is healthy and was always active but not recently. He is 6ft and 230lbs.
Hello, it could be due to many reasons, first and foremost could be a nerve compression if he has accompanied back pain.It could even be a blood clot or a thrombosis .If the leg is swollen in the calf muscles please get a venous doppler done ASAP
