Dear: back pain is a very frustrating condition that sometimes is very hard to control. There are multiples possibilities including spinal stenosis, bulging disc and trapment of the nerves. We always try with the anti-inflammatory,muscle relaxant and physical therapy. If these don't help, next step is to do a plain xray to check for arthritis. If this is negative, then MRI of the lumbosacral should be done to evaluate the back for spinal stenosis and disc. It depends of the results for the treatment. I recommend you to see your doctor for the workup because pills have not worked, so you might need epidural block.
