Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently (2/15/17) had EMG on lower extremities after experiencing lower back pain and right leg limp related to a thoracic vertebrae #6 compression fracture from a car accident when I was 23 years old, now I am 53 years old, female. Ht 5 3 weight 176 pounds. It was determined I have Lumbar 5 compressed/pinched nerve. I am performing Physical Therapy exercises under supervison. I previously saw a chiropractor for 6 visits. My question is: What course of treatment do you recommend. My back pain waxes & wanes. Today is a good day. Pain level 1-2 mid & lower back.

Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain
Hello, As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. Most probably it will be due to spine related problems like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
