Suggest Treatment For Severe Migraine

Hi, i recently made a trip to the er for severe migranes. They gave me an iv, which injected a steroid followed by a dose of benadryl for my migrane pain. Before the benadryl kicked in..i believe i had some sort of reaction to the steroid...a rush of severe itching sensation..very uncomfortable.rushed through my body. The nurse who administered my iv medication told me thats what the benadryl is for when i felt uncomfortable. My question is, is that a normal reaction? Or could i be allergic to the steroid.

Hello ma'm..

Yes, that's a normal reaction, any person getting an IV steroid will have that rush of severe itching sensation and uncomfortableness throughout the body lasting for few seconds. Nothing to worry.
