I have a 10 yr old son who has been having migranes for going on 2 months. In the last 2 weeks he has had severse back pains in the upper back into his neck. We have been to his pediatrician and have done xrays. Xrays came back normal. My mother had surgery for Chiari Malformation which studies have shown it is hereditary. I have done some research and he has/ almost everyone of the symptoms. We see the pediatrician again tomorrow should I push to have a MRI done
Hi I understand your concerns. But I would advice u to do as your pediatrician says. They would know better. Pushing for an MRI seems like a good idea to you now, but the child who is exposed to it won't feel so. Other simple causes of headache with pain should b ruled out before thinking of chiari malformation. Hope it helped.
