Suggest Treatment For Severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation
I have severe mitral valve regurgitation with occasional afib episodes. Surgery is pending until I can get my weight up. (I m 5.4ft female with weight of 100 lbs. Normal weight has been 125 lbs. for years. Also a diagnosed Celiac for 31 years ) My cardiologist has me on Verapamil ER 120mg tablets which I am cutting in half, at her suggestion, as the full dose is too strong (I have low blood pressure). I take the Verapamil in the morning. Several days ago she added a prescription of Flecainide 50mg. tablets as I had a few palpations two weeks ago. The Flecainide prescription calls for 1 tablet every 12 hours. She also added Warfarin SOD 2mg. tablets once a day. I can barely function with these two new drugs added and am concerned that it s too much for my body to handle. I can t reach the cardiologist, or my PCP on the week-end. I want to not take the Flecainide this evening or tomorrow morning until I can reach the cardiologist, but not sure if that will cause me to have another Afib episode.
