Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 32 yr old male . I ve been relatively healthy my entire life thus far . November of last year I took a job in the oil field where long hours (120 a week) in sometimes sub degree weather ( -20 at times) put a severe hurting on my body. I had pneumonia which was taken care of with a z-pak but more importantly I ve been dealing with pretty severe edema throughout my body especially my extremities ,shortness of breath , and burning around the spleen area ( left upper an area) months later? After 2 visits to wellness clinics and one visit to the ER no one can give me any Anwsers as to what s wrong or what s triggering these symptoms. I ve had breathing and blood tests done and both came out that I m health. One blood test stated that my kidney levels ran a little high but nothing to worry about? The doctors said rest would is the best thing . Well I ve been resting for weeks and I m still dealing with the edema , where I m having a hard time walking . If I can get rid of the edema I m sure the shortness of breath will go away with exercise but I literally have a hard time walking more than a mile when my feet blow up the way that they do ( I can provide pictures) .If this rings any bells please let me know what I can do to make this better. 2 types of medication have been issued - the zpak and a knock off of penacline.
