Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain After Teeth Extraction

My daughter just had her wisdom teeth pulled today. they gave us a prescription for pain but the nurse said not to give it to her until 10pm tonight because of other stuff that is in her system from the surgery. She is in a good bit of pain. They said she could take 800 mg of ibuprofin and/or tylenol. the nurse said they were OK to mix, but I am not sure about the dose limit on each if they are taken together. Could you give me some direction? Also, how often can/should they be taken?

Hi..
Thanks for the query.

As per your complain if you have pain in extraction site post wisdom tooth extraction, then she can very much take a combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol..
However, only Ibuprofen can also be taken as it will help in reducing inflammation as well as pain..

In case if you want to combine Ibuprofen and Paracetamol, a combination of Ibuprofen 400mg and Paracetamol 500 mg is sufficient for a single dose..
Along with medication you should also make her do cool compresses over the cheek..
Take a soft and semisolid diet,,

In case if there is no improvement then consult her treating dentist and get her evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
