Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Aches When Diagnosed With Osteoarthritis

I have sciatica and aches and pains and have been told I have osteoarthritis. Today my toe, my knee, my knuckle and my back hurt. How can I find ways to know what to do to help and how can I fix things without steroids and cortisone? How much is exacerbated by stress?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Osteoarthritis may affect multiple joints. It may be the cause of the pain you feel at joints.I will suggest you see the Doctor to also investigate you for microcrystaline arthropathy and rheumatoid arthritis.Test that may help are rheumatoid factor, blood uric acid, ASLO, ESR, full blood count.Whether sciatica or osteoarthritis, the principle of treatment remains the same.Treatment options may include: different lines of pain drugs depending on pain intensity, myorelaxants, steroid shots occasionally, physiotherapy and surgery in saome case. Many of these options may be used together for better results.I will suggest you try the following:
-Rest well
-Take a pain drug like aceclofenac
-A myorelaxant like miorel
-Hire the services of a Physiotherapist
If these measures do not help, you see the Doctor to try other treatment options.Your Doctor may also judge the need for steroids but you will have to take as prescribed by the Doctor to limit side effects.
Hope this will help
Wish you good health
