Hi,

The irregularity of cycles can have a number of causes which no doubt can hinder pregnancy. For example, PCOS where cysts are formed in the ovaries, thyroid imbalance, hyperprolactinemia, primary ovarian insufficiency. For pregnancy to occur, ovulation is a must and these conditions may hinder normal ovulation. Due to this, eliminating the underlying pathology is necessary. You should get your hormones tested, blood work done to check thyroid, adrenals and pituitary and an ultrasonographic examination to check for PCOS and status of ovulation.

It is not uncommon for women with irregular periods to conceive naturally. You just need to find out the underlying cause for irregularity so that proper measures can be taken before conception to avoid complications during pregnancy.

Depending on the underlying pathology, you might need to take drugs to correct that first and after that only you should plan to get pregnant. Apart from that please adapt a healthy lifestyles with exercise and balance diet. Manage your weight as over weight and under weight both are problematic for normal menstruation and ovulation.

As your bleeding is prolonging too much, please take Tab Tranexamic acid (Tab Tranemic) as long as needed or Tab Sylate till bleeding stops. Along with that take tablet containing iron (Feostat).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
