Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Presence Of Blood In Urine

Hi I slipped in shower on monday and went to A&E and was x-rayed & told I had at least 2 broken ribs and blood in urine. I am in agony but was just given co-codamol. I went to the toilet earlier and noticed quite a lot of bright red blood when passing stools. I know it is not from a tear nor do I have piles. Would this just be a one off? I have an appointment in weeks to do with my bowels as the hospital think I have IBS due to stress, and I have never had this proper bleed before.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a renal stone or urethral stone.

Consult a urologist and get evaluated.

An ultrasound scan is required for further assessment.

As of now drink plenty of water for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
