Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Pressure Sensation Under The Ribs

Hi, I have been suffering with a pain on the left side under the rib. I feel spasms and pressure. It feels like when I was pregnant and the baby moved. I know it s weird but that s what I feel. It sometimes is constant then stops and all of a sudden I feel a strong sharp pain then its gone by the annoying pain is there. Saw the doctor, he gave me Cipro 2 weeks ago and I never felt a change. He said it was colonitis? Having to do with an infection in the large intestine. What do I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to colitis which is an inflammation of the colon.

I see that you have already take antibiotics. I suggest taking pain relievers such as Ibuprofen.

I also recommend drinking liquids, using a fiber-rich diet and taking iron supplements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
